I head south on the A325 through Whitehill and Greatham, then into Liss via the A3 or through Liss Forest. It’s about 6.5 miles by road and around 15 minutes.

Liss has Victorian and Edwardian houses around East Liss and the station, older cottages in West Liss, and plenty of 20th-century family estates. With the station on the Portsmouth line, it’s a commuter village, and if you’re out at work in the week, Saturday is within my hours.

A flat 1.25-mile local nature reserve path between Liss and Liss Forest, along the old Longmoor Military Railway line that once ran up towards Bordon.

Yes. Liss Forest is about 4 miles from Bordon and Hawkley about 4.5, both in my area. Hawkley’s lanes are narrow, so tell me where I can park.
